The political landscape of Kisauni constituency within Mombasa County is about to get shaken up come the 2017 elections.This has been attributed by the emergence of one Ali Mbogo Safari as an aspiring Member of Parliament for Kisauni.
Mbogo, a businessman who hails from humble beginnings from within the constituency has been hot on the heels of sitting leaders challenging their development agenda.
A firm believer of self empowerment as a tool for self reliance and development, Mbogo has taken it upon himself to offer academic bursaries to promising underprivileged youth together with helping women groups in the area.
Through existing youth groups and organisations within the constituency, Mbogo has been able to reach out and assist in helping them run their projects.
His work in the community has seen him visiting various wards spreading his philosophy.
So far he has been to Shanzu ward, Bamburi ward,Mtopanga and slowly making his way to Magogoni ward where he is expected to issue more than 150 bursaries to promising young individuals of the area.
A special function to acknowledge the lucky individuals will be held at the Bilima grounds on Friday 12/02/2016
All the great work Mbogo has been doing in Kisauni has been met with some resistance from elected leaders of the area who have been alleged to have been sending intimidating messages to him.
However, Mbogo seems undeterred by such scare tactics and has vowed to continue with his quest.
The aspiring candidate comes out as a humble, easy going, good natured and all round nice guy with a soft spot for Kisauni.
The businessman is yet to declare his political alliances choosing to keep his options open while letting his work do the talking.
